Banana bread and Being Busy

Hello and how are you? Hope you are all well. So what’s been happening in your lives this week? I’ve been busy working on an assignment for my uni course and chipping away at the editing for the new sequel to Dusting Down Alcudia (due out mid to end of June this year).

I’ve also been taking a few wee snaps from my life which I will share with you in this post. The image above is not a still life, but a picture of a successful afternoon’s baking: a lovely loaf of bread and some banana bread. The banana bread, a real favourite of my son’s, is all but gone as he has scoffed most of it. I had the bread for breakfast this morning with poached eggs on top…yum!

Here’s an image I took of a crocus that has decided to take up residence right in the middle of my front lawn. It’s lovely.

And here are some early daffodils…

I love flowers, so it’s nice (although a little early) to see the garden beginning to burst into life again.

So, what have you been up to? I’ve been working on a plan for my workload for the next nine months. That includes books I want to be working on and things I need to do to make that happen. I’m also about to launch a new business whereby I’ll be offering editing and typesetting services to authors of both fiction and non fiction. I’ve been thinking about doing this for some time, so now it’s nearly the time to do it. Just got a website to set up and some ads to take out and we’ll see how it goes. I have a lot of experience editing (30 years…yikes!) and typesetting (10+ years) and have produced everything from novels to posters and leaflets. Anyway, if anyone is interested in learning more, contact me at: dawn@danelsonauthor.com

Here’s Bonya being animated for a change. Love this pic although it is a little out of focus.

So, this year, I want to achieve the following:

  • bring out the sequel to Dusting Down Alcudia
  • bring out my murder mystery
  • bring out my young adult book
  • set up my editing/typesetting business
  • and start writing Nina books 2 and 3

Phew I am going to be busy!! That’s on top of my university course. I think I can achieve it. The first three books are already written in early drafts (well Nina 2 is nearly finished) and I will write Nina 3 over summer. Just need to be organised… and stop watching so much telly!! 😉 If Nora Roberts can average five books a year, surely I can do three!! That’s the challenge.

Write, I am going to finish up here. I have a fair few things I want to do today around the house. I have already edited one chapter of Nina 2 and done an hour’s university study, so I have the rest of the day to clear my study (for that is the task I have ahead…sigh, I hate cleaning!). On that note, I will say adieu until next time,

Dawn xxx
