Carnival Row is back! Some book recommendations! And some freebies!

So, it’s been a couple of weeks since I last wrote something on this blog . Anyway, I’m back. The pic above is an action shot of my two dogs, Casper (grey and brown Yorkshire Terrier) and Millie (the Jack Russell/Chihuahua cross). I thought I’d start the day off with an image that makes me smile and hopefully will make you smile too. It was taken a couple of days ago during one of our daily walks.

Anyhoo, how’s things with you all? I’ve been busy signing up for loads of book promos and givesaways, so expect to hear more about them soon. It’s not just romance promos either, there will be a few thriller/crime promos in there too so if you’re not a romance fan, watch out for those too. Here’s today’s link to free romance ebooks:

Where am I at with my writing right now? I’ve finished the first draft of Loch Ness and am about to start the first edit of it. It’s currently sitting at around 52,000, but with my edit that should get bigger. I’ve thought of another scene I’d like to put in, so that’ll make it grow again. So excited to get this book out. Am planning to launch it next month, so watch this space for more details.

I’ve also started a completely new book series centred around a young Victorian woman living in an alternative (ie fantasy) Victorian Glasgow who teams up with a vampire to find her missing brother. I want to make it a five book series, but am aiming for three initially. The young woman’s name is Dorcas Findlay and she’s coming soon. Unlike other books I’ve written for adults, this won’t be steamy.

What I’m reading right now: I’ve got three books on the go again. What? Don’t you do that? I’m reading Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban for enjoyment, Roxie Nafousi’s (I love her name) Manifest: Dive Deeper, and The Stopping Places: A Journey Through Gypsy Britain by Damian Le Bas. I’m also about to start reading this book, Payback Phoenix Style by Susan Horsnell, as I have a book coming out in that series this year. Woohoo! Can’t wait. That’s a lot of reading, but I love it!

What I am watching: at last, the new series of Carnival Row has dropped on Prime. I LOVE this series. I can’t tell you how much I love it. It’s a fantasy starringĀ  Cara Delevingne and Orlando Bloom and is packed full of murder, political intrigue, adventure and more. It’s excellent. Can’t believe this is the final season. I mean, it’s so good. Sigh. Maybe they’ll change their minds and keep it going or someone will write some books and extend the stories. Who knows!

Anyway, that’s it for today. Happy World Book day and I’ll be back again soon.

Dawn xx
