I do love a Daiquiri and was delighted to see that the lovely alcoholic beverage has its own day. The drink was invented by a man called Jennings Stockton Cox in Daiquiri, Cuba (who knew it was a place?) in the 1900s. Daiquiri is a blend of lime juice, sugar and Bacardi rum and usually comes in different flavours (mine is a strawberry Daiquiri). To celebrate, dig out the Bacardi, sugar and lime and enjoy!
