Have I told you that I’m taking piano lessons? If you are a regular reader of this blog you may already know that I acquired a piano a couple of years ago. I’ve been trying to learn by myself, but was not sticking to it. So I now see a lovely lady called Diane once every two weeks for a lesson and I’m loving it. Diane is lovely and a great teacher and we have a good laugh. She’s given me an Adele song to learn, but I’m sad to say that trying to coordinate my left and right hands is the musical equivalent to rubbing my tummy and patting my head at the same time. Gave it a another go today and it’s just not coming…yet. I’ll keep trying.
Not a lot’s been happening here. Been gearing up for Christmas (I have almost finished writing all my Christmas cards…I know – sad! But I must have about 60 cards to send every year and I want to get them out by the end of this month) plus we’ve had a fair few birthdays this month. My boy turns six next week. I can’t believe he’s that age already!! He wants a Nerf gun and a wheeley case thing. He just announced in the car this afternoon that he also wants a Despicable Me Fart Gun…boys are so lovely aren’t they?? It’s my birthday at the end of the month where I will be 25 again! Well, okay, 43. Can’t believe I’m that age. One minute I was 25 and the next I’m in my 40s…how did that happen? Where did the time go? A few friends have also turned 50 recently.
Anyway, nothing I can do about getting older.
What else have I been up to? Well I finished reading The Interpretation of Murder, which was great. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Am now on to the third of the Outlander series. Also watched the last Poirot. Am not sure what I think of it. I think I missed a bit of it because the kids and hubby managed to talk through a good bit of it so I kept missing important clues. Sigh. I love Poirot. Have you seen Yonderland? If you like Horrible Histories, you’ll love this. I think it’s funny and I’m also loving it because it’s something (apart from Dr Who) I can watch with my kids and we can all enjoy it. We are looking forward to tomorrow’s episode.
Regarding Christmas, am steaming ahead making a few Christmas presents. Will do a show all once the big day is over and all the recipients – some of whom read this blog – have opened their pressies!!
Right, on that note, am off to put the kids to bed (they have been super noisy and ‘energetic’ today), check on the guinea pigs and make another cup of tea. Til next time.
Dawn xx
ps the boy has just come in to ask if – on his special day (his birthday) – he can go to school wearing his blazer, shirt, tie, tie pin and his school shorts. The answer I gave him is ‘yes, yes, yes, yes and no, it’s too cold’.
