Celebrating the life and death of Saint Patrick – Ireland’s patron saint – St Patrick’s Day is a public holiday of the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Also celebrated by Irish ex-pats and descendents all over the world (as well as non Irish), the day commemorates Saint Patrick and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland.

I don’t know how you celebrate it, but I might just make some traditional Irish food and enjoy a pint of Guinness! P�
