Today, which is also my friend Jane’s birthday (happy birthday Jane), commemorates the Fibonacci sequence and the man who brought it to the world’s attention in 1202…Leoardo of Pisa. He was the first to bring the sequence to the European world and raise awareness of its importance in the furthering of science. It first appeared in Indian mathematics and was connected with Sanskrit prosody.
