Hunterian Museum…interesting but we obviously weren’t the right ‘types’ to be there!

We went to the Hunterian today. It’s based within Glasgow University which is a series of really lovely old buildings in the westend of Glasgow. And one of the oldest universities in the UK.

It was really interesting.

The kids loved it.

My girl is really getting into museums. Which is great, cos I love ’em too.

It was like a giant box of curiosities.

The only thing that marred the visit…

… was a very snooty woman in the first room who looked like she was sucking lemons (obviously we weren’t the type of people she believed should be in the museum)…

…and…

…a security guard type person who didn’t keep his eyes off us as we went round the museum.

Note to museum staff: if a family comes in to your beloved space, we are not there to cause a ruckus (even though our kids are noisy and excitable). We are there to educate our kids. We are not there to cause you inconvenience or a nuisance, but to learn and see and wonder.

It would be really nice if we were made to feel more welcome next time we come!
