An actual night out and dog depression

Hi there! How’s things? Hope you are all well. I’ve been really busy over the last week studying for my OU degree and writing. There’s also been a big party and a bit of dog depression in the house.

Let me explain…

The big party was actually a big family dinner at The Anchor Line (above) in Glasgow on Saturday night. We were celebrating my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary which was the week before. I was there with my kids, my parents and my two sisters and their families. The food was amazing – expensive, but really nice – and we had a lovely time. NB Can really recommend the Lobstor Macaroni Cheese – my mouth is watering just thinking of it. The bar and restaurant are beautifully decorated depicting the history of the Anchor Line which was a shipping business run by two brothers in Glasgow in the 19th century. I would recommend the Anchor Line. It’s really lovely, the staff are so nice and the food is amazing, expensive but amazing.

Anyway, that was my annual night out over and done with!! 🙂 I just loved it. It was so nice to dress up and go out somewhere really nice with my family, especially my mum and dad, to celebrate such a nice occasion.

Anyway, on to the dog depression. Well, it was all down to these two:

Winston (left) and Casper (right) are best of friends, and while my parents were away on a cruise recently (again to celebrate their anniversary), young Winston stayed with us. He and Casper adore each other and are always together when they are here. So, it came as no surprise to anyone that, when Win went back home last week, Casper spent a day-and-a-half missing him. He was quiet and depressed, giving me big doleful looks all the time. He got lots of cuddles and attention from us, but he’s such a sweet dog to be missing his best friend.

So, what else has been happening chez moi? Been working hard on my OU degree in English Literature and Creative Writing. It’s really hard work, harder than I thought it would be, but so enjoyable at the same time. Got another assignment to get in for next week, so that’s what I’ll be concentrating on over the next week.

For writing, I am still editing the Dusting Down Alcudia sequel. It’s getting there! Will let you know what it’s likely to be available soon. Also, talking of Dusting Down Alcudia, I should have some audiobook news on that very VERY soon! So, stay tuned.

At the moment, apart from writing this, I am awaiting a plumber to service my boiler. I should be getting ready to go to a writers’ group I am a member of, but I am here waiting in – again – for the plumber (who failed to turn up last Thursday when I waited in all day for him). If aforementioned plumber does not show up, I am afraid I will NOT be very happy. Anyway, he has a little time to arrive yet, so fingers crossed!!

Currently reading: Terry Pratchett’s The Last Continent. I fancied something light and funny to read and Pratchett never disappoints. Am loving this one!

Currently watching: binge watched BBC Scotland’s Two Doors Down (below) recently. How did I not know about this programme before? It’s hilarious!
